10.17 [Sermon] Colossians: Violence, Progress and Peace - Part Four - It's easy to misunderstand the nature of the providence of God and only ever allow the idea to exist in the realm of miraculous parking spots, trains caught on time and the good luck of a fortuitously packed umbrella in an unexpected downpour. But, God is not a puppet master and we are not his marionettes. 

 

Rather, the providence of God is responsible for creating, sustaining and moving everything toward his purpose. All creation, including humanity, are moving toward his goals. In other words, everything is going somewhere and it is God who faithfully sustains everything and "progresses" everything along in the ultimate direction of His will.
